Sometimes I wondered whether Milkias had a lower impression about himself as a student than I did. He would often apologize to me... for all sorts of things. "Sorry for asking all these questions". "Sorry for being late". "Sorry for missing class". "Sorry for scoring low on that test". Sorry, sorry, sorry...
The TRUTH of the matter is that I LOVED teaching Milkias. I would use words to describe him like "kind", "authentic", "funny", "easy-going", and "personable". Plus, he's got one of the best laughs ever! How could I not like teaching someone like that?
And (I'm not sure if Milkias realizes this either), I actually consider Milkias a good Math student. It's true that he missed a fair number of classes but this just made it even more impressive when he would (always) get caught up in his understanding of the material.
