MOST DISAPPOINTING ALBUMS OF 2014!! (as decided by ME) 1. U2 - Songs of Innocence And to think I used to obsess over this band in the 80's. The Lykke Li song is great but everything else is kind of... boring. I have seen them seven times in concert (they put on an amazing show). But this album is so "meh" I'm not even going when they come in May (though I know I'll regret it a little after). Bring back Bono with his 80's mullet! 2. Pink Floyd - The Endless River C'mon! It's Pink Floyd! The same band that gave us Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, and Wish You Were Here. But this sounds like some New Age background music you'd hear while getting a foot massage. And the lyrics in the one song with vocals: scary! If this is their last album ever (and they say it is), what a sad way to end a legendary existence! 3. Aretha Franklin - Sings the Great Diva Classics What could go wrong here? The Queen of Soul takes on legendary songs by Etta James, Diana Ross, and Adele. Sadly, the problem is Aretha's voice. It's almost hard to believe that this is the same woman who (DESERVEDLY!!!) is considered to have the greatest voice EVER in popular music. Time is not kind to any of us... 4. Alt-J - This is All Yours It's not that this album is BAD. There are actually some songs on here that I really like. But it's just not even close to their last album. THAT album (An Awesome Wave) was one of my favourite albums of the last DECADE!! What happened Alt-J?!? 5. Ariel Pink - Pom Pom There is obviously something in my brain that does not allow me to appreciate Ariel Pink. So many critics love this guy but every time I try something he's made, I'm left thinking: "HUH?". The album cover is kind of cool (KIND OF) but as for the songs... YAWN!
What to teach preschoolers to make them successful in school (not saying I agree with this...)26/12/2014 I also find it hard to believe that a math teacher could be this good looking. Mind you, those clashing shirts make it seem more possible. Anyway, thanks Juliana!
No wheels broken during the making of this video. Now THAT'S impressive! Sad stuff. What a voice. Crazy spasmodic movements in concert but he could sure belt it out! Wish he was in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. How could (ick!) Green Day be voted in last week but still no Joe Cocker!! For shame! |
