Microsoft is bringing a program to Vancouver (for VSB secondary students) called DigiGirlz. DigiGirlz is one of Microsoft's signature programs to invest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education for young women to explore the vast career opportunities available to them. It is a global program of 50+ multi-day and one-day camps held in multiple countries around the world. This is an exciting opportunity for high school girls (grade 9 – 12) to learn about careers in technology, talk with Microsoft employees about their life experiences and enjoy hands-on computer and technology workshops.
The Vancouver Microsoft team is hosting a One Day event for girls age 13-17, on Wednesday, April 30th. Microsoft is accepting the first 40 girls who apply. Especially the Tiger Woods part. Remember the blog post from a couple of weeks ago about the little girl with cancer (and the BIG wig) who was befriended by the 7-foot basketball start?
Sadly, she died today. So great that this guy made her last few months on earth extra special. Talk about making a difference for another human being... Really, really sad for this little girl's parents. I can't even imagine... Wait a minute. Does this mean that I now have a chance with my first true love?
